IONOS review

IONOS is known for its affordable, feature-packed hosting plans, but does it really deliver on performance and reliability?  To find out, I set up a server and ran real-world tests to measure system performance, CPU power, disk speed, and network metrics like download, upload, and latency. I also monitored IONOS server uptime and ran stress tests to evaluate overall stability and responsiveness. Some results exceeded expectations, while others showed room for improvement. Beyond performance, I evaluated ease of use, customer support, and the overall dashboard experience. The control panel was intuitive, and phone support was quick to respond. In this review, I’ll break it all down to help you decide if IONOS is the right hosting provider for you. Registration I found the IONOS registration process to be well-optimized and quick. To get started, go to the Hosting tab on the IONOS home page, and select your preferred hosting type.  For testing, I chose VPS hosting. On the next page, compare the plan available hosting plans – where you can compare features and prices.  Select the relevant operating system, data center location, and cloud backup configurations and you’re basically ready to start.  Before proceeding to checkout, IONOS presented an optional Agency Partner Program, which offers free product trials, lead generation, and client management tools. I skipped this and clicked Add to Cart, then Continue. The cart page displayed a breakdown of my selected VPS plan, total cost, contract terms, and available payment methods – keeping everything transparent, understandable, and accessible.  Enter your billing preferences and payment details, and complete the transaction.  Once that’s done, you’ll see an order confirmation page displaying the plan details, payment summary, and IONOS terms and policies agreement checkbox (make sure you tick it!)  The IONOS signup process is pretty standard of the hosting industry, and I received my confirmation order email instantly. Overall, signing up with IONOS was smooth, fast, and easy. The interface is clean, and I never felt lost during the process. IONOS Dashboard The IONOS dashboard serves as the central hub for managing all hosting services, domains, email accounts, and security settings. The first thing I noticed was how structured and intuitive the dashboard is. Everything is categorized clearly – unlike with some competitors where essential features are buried away in needlessly deep menus. The dashboard is designed to give full control over your hosting services, whether you’re managing a simple website, a VPS, or an entire cloud infrastructure. Overall, I found the IONOS dashboard very easy to use, and I think even a beginner could work it out easily. Generally, managing your website, emails, and servers is straightforward and efficient. Managing the Server Next, I wanted to see how easy it is to manage my server in IONOS. A good hosting provider should make it simple to access, configure, and monitor your server, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced user. To access my VPS, I logged into the IONOS dashboard and clicked on the Servers & Cloud section. From the server list, all I then had to do was click on the relevant name, taking me straight to the management panel. The IONOS management panel offers a variety of functionalities, from server status, SSH access details, resource allocation information, and active firewall policies.  I found everything to be clearly labelled, but some more advanced features are more obscured. While more well-versed web hosters might not struggle to find what they’re looking for, I think it may offer a bit of a learning curve to newer users. Is IONOS Easy to Use? For the most part, IONOS does a great job of streamlining the registration process and keeping a clean user dashboard. Throughout my testing, signup was smooth and intuitive, and I found the dashboard easy enough to navigate.  Despite this, I do think it would pose some potential issues for newer or less tech-savvy users – and might not be the best choice if this is your first hosting experience.  Performance I tested both VPS and Shared Hosting from IONOS.  IONOS VPS Performance Testing To understand IONOS VPS performance clearly, I conducted multiple tests, including system benchmarking, CPU stress testing, disk speed analysis, and network performance evaluation. IONOS VPS Network Test Results Network performance is crucial for VPS hosting because it determines how quickly data is sent and received. This directly impacts website load times, API response times, and the overall performance of hosted applications. The IONOS VPS XXL delivered an impressive download speed of 3796.52 Mbps and upload speed of 1831.69 Mbps. The ping latency averaged 12ms, which is excellent for most applications. After running these tests, I’ve found IONOS VPS XXL virtual server to be mixed. The CPU’s multi-core performance is a highlight, making it ideal for web hosting, virtualization, and cloud-based applications. And network speeds are outstanding, ensuring smooth data transfers and low latency. However, while disk speeds are good for general use, they may not be the best for high-frequency transactional workloads.  IONOS Web Hosting Server Testing To properly test IONOS’s shared hosting performance, I didn’t just install a blank WordPress site. I added actual content to simulate a real-world website, then tested using GTMetrix and Check Host.  Here’s what I found!  GTMetrix Test Results GTMetrix grades your site based on how fast it loads and how well-optimized its structure is.  Level of Support To see if IONOS delivers industry-standard support, I tested their phone lines, live chat, AI assistant, and Help Center, paying close attention to response times, clarity, and overall usefulness. Phone Support The phone line is IONOS’ main support resource. From your user dashboard, select the contact button and then choose the topic relevant to your call.  I was given a recommended phone number to call, along with my customer ID and a temporary phone PIN for verification. Honestly, I’d started to think it’s a bit of a faff already at this point. After getting through – albeit having waited in a hold queue for a few minutes – I was answered promptly by the support representative. The information and guidance I received was helpful, but there were still configurations I needed to complete myself manually.  While the representative was helpful, the process wasn’t as smooth when compared with IONOS’

InterServer review

InterServer stands out for its no-surprise pricing – what you pay today is what you’ll pay forever, with no renewal hikes. This makes InterServer an attractive option for budget-conscious users. But price isn’t everything, so I wanted to see if InterServer delivers on speed, reliability, and ease of use. I was impressed with their usability and control panels. During my tests, I found that InterServer’s VPS hosting offers full control, with instant activation, multiple OS choices, and scalable resources.  However, with limited data centers outside of the U.S., and customer support not always reaching expectations, are the cheaper prices worth InterServer’s limitations?  In this InterServer review, I’ll break down pricing, features, performance, ease of use, and customer support, so you’ll know exactly what to expect before signing up.   InterServer Prices & Plans – 2025 With flexible payment options and a straightforward refund policy, InterServer makes it easy to get started. They offer various hosting plan options, including web hosting, VPS & cloud hosting, shared hosting, and dedicated servers.  InterServer doesn’t offer a free trial for new customers, but they provide a 30-day money-back guarantee. However, it’s important to note that this only applies to web hosting plans – if you use VPS or a dedicated server, you can’t get a refund.  Payments are simple, and InterServer accepts a range of options, including credit cards, wire transfers, checks and money orders, as well as digital currencies (bitcoin) and PayPal.    InterServer Prices & Plans – 2025 With flexible payment options and a straightforward refund policy, InterServer makes it easy to get started. It offers affordable prices, feature-packed plans, and intuitive controls, all backed by great customer support.Visit InterServer Ease of Use I’ve tested the sign up process, set up a VPS, and played around with the InterServer dashboard and controls. Here’s a breakdown of the experience and what you can expect.  Registration and Creating a New Account Overall, I found the signup process for InterServer is quick and hassle-free. Once you’ve chosen the relevant hosting type, head to your plan options.  Since I’ve decided to test the VPS hosting, I was then asked to choose between the options: Linux VPS, Storage VPS, and Windows VPS. I went with Linux for its common usage.  I was then asked to either login or create a new account. InterServer also allows social sign-in (Google, Facebook, GitHub, or X) to save time.  Once I signed up, InterServer sent a verification code to my email. I entered the code, and my account was instantly verified. At this point, I was redirected straight back to the InterServer dashboard – you’ll make your purchase at a later point, when configuring your server.  Ordering a VPS from the Dashboard Once inside the InterServer dashboard, I was immediately taken to the Order VPS page. This page allowed me to customize my VPS before purchasing it. You’ll be asked to configure server specifics like storage and memory capacity, transfer limits, data center location, and root password.  I was then taken to the order summary page to review and confirm the server details, and agree to InterServer terms. After checking the box, click place my order.  After placing my order, I was taken to the Cart page. At this stage, I had to add a billing address and choose a payment method. I selected my preferred payment method and completed the payment. Once my payment was processed, I received a confirmation email containing login credentials, instructions for accessing the server, and a support link for assistance.  Exploring the Dashboard From first glance, I was impressed with the InterServer dashboard. Unlike many hosting providers that make you dig through menus to find essential features, InterServer keeps everything in one place – including an organized account overview.  The left-hand menu contains the dashboard, VPS management, web hosting management, storage optimization, and billing information.  I really appreciate that everything was structured logically, so I didn’t have to search for essential settings. Managing the VPS from the Control Panel Since I’ve set up a VPS, I wanted to see how easy it was to manage and optimize it using the InterServer control panel. So, from the dashboard, I clicked VPS.  Here, I was greeted with all of my account’s active virtual servers.  The settings button to the right opens a well-structured and intuitive management interface, providing a detailed overview of my server.  Additionally, I could see my IP address, host server details, and other technical parameters such as the Vzid identifier. Back in the control panel, I found the list of available management actions to be extremely useful. You can install operating systems, backup and restore your server, and manage storage devices, bandwidth, and traffic usage.   InterServer also offers optional control

HostArmada review

I tested HostArmada by setting up a website on their Shared Hosting and a VPS hosting plans, evaluating performance, ease of use, and support. Right away, I noticed key perks like free SSL, daily backups, and free website migration—features that many providers charge extra for. The shared hosting setup was seamless with cPanel and Softaculous, while the HostArmada VPS tools provided full control. However, while the initial pricing is competitive, renewal rates increase after the first term. This HostArmada shares all the details so you’ll know exactly what to expect. Ease of Use I’ve heard good things about HostArmada’s usability, so I put it to the test. From signup and purchase, to the user dashboard, installs, and server management, so you know what you expect.  Registration and Account Creation Registering for HostArmada was simple – select your plan, input domain information, and you’re ready to get started.  Choose between monthly or quarterly billing cycles first, then select your data center location and server features.  Finally, review your order and enter your payment details. Here, I had a discount code to apply, so I popped that in the relevant box, as well.  Once the payment was complete, I received two confirmation emails, one for my order, and the other prompting me to verify my email address.  The HostArmada registration process was standard, and all confirmations were received instantly, so I wasn’t left worrying things had gone wrong. User Dashboard The HostArmada user dashboard is where you manage your account and servers. This is the central hub for everything related to your HostArmada hosting plan, divided into two main panels.  The left hand panel is the primary navigation menu, and I found it to be neatly categorized. Everything is easy to find, and I was able to quickly hop between accounts, services, billing, support, and domain management. HostArmada’s dashboard is one of the most user-friendly I’ve encountered, balancing simplicity with flexibility. The inclusion of shortcuts for managing services, invoices, and support makes it an even more streamlined tool.  VPS Server Management To manage my VPS server, I navigated to My Services and clicked Manage next to my server. This opened a detailed overview of my VPS hosting plan. From here, I was able to access cPanel, WebMail, and WHM login, as well as view my service and billing details.  Again, this is split into the two panels, with each containing a list of essential, easily accessible, server management features.  I found HostArmada’s WHM (VPS server control center) is robust yet user-friendly, overall an excellent tool for developers or businesses managing multiple accounts.  The detailed panels and clear navigation make server management smooth and efficient. Shared Hosting Management & Installing WordPress For shared hosting, the process is simpler but just as efficient. I accessed my shared hosting service from the My Services tab and clicked Manage. I logged into the cPanel from the management dashboard, and was able to access the WordPress manager (by Softaculous), and find general account information like SSL status, IP address, and disk usage.  To see how easy this would be for a beginner, I decided to install the WordPress manager. Through Softaculous, I was able to do this in literally a couple of clicks from here – so I’d say that’s pretty straightforward.  Installing WordPress with HostAdvice took less than five minutes thanks to the intuitive dashboard and third-party tools.  Their ease of use shines in its streamlined registration, comprehensive dashboards, and beginner-friendly tools. I honestly believe whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned user, HostArmada ensures you have the tools you need at your fingertips. Performance HostArmada VPS Performance Tests HostArmada stands out for its usability, but how does it compare when it comes to website performance? I used the sysbench benchmarking tool to see how my HostArmada test website performed in CPU and memory, as well as conducting a Google ping test.  I decided to compare the results for VPS and shared hosting solutions, so let’s take a look at the results.  First, here are my VPS server details:  Storage: 160GB NVMe Bandwidth: 5TB CPU: 4 Cores RAM: 8GB CPU Performance Test This test measures how well the CPU handles mathematical computations, evaluating the server’s processing power.  The CPU speed was excellent and demonstrated strong performance. This indicates that HostArmada CPU can handle medium to heavy workloads, making it suitable for running multiple applications, hosting databases, or handling traffic-heavy sites.  The low latency and high events-per-second rate reflect its capability to manage demanding processes efficiently. I used the command: sysbench cpu –cpu-max-prime=20000 run Results:  Total Number Events: 13634 CPU Speed: 1363.23 Events/second Latency: 0.72 (Minimum), 0.73 (Average), 4.66 (Maximum) Memory Performance Test Next, I wanted to measure the HostArmada server’s ability to handle memory operations. This test measures the server’s ability to handle memory operations, and evaluates memory speed and latency. With a high transfer rate and negligible latency it’s clear to me that the HostArmada VPS can handle memory-intensive tasks.  These results demonstrate that HostArmada’s VPS server provides robust memory performance, making it a reliable choice for applications requiring quick data access and processing. The command I used: sysbench memory –memory-block-size=1M –memory-total-size=10G run Results:  Total Operations: 10240 Memory Speed: 20560 MiB/sec transfer rate Latency: 0.04 (Minimum), 0.05 (Average), 3.38 (Maximum)  HostArmada’s VPS server showcased excellent performance in both CPU and memory tests. The results reflect its capability to handle resource-intensive applications efficiently, making it a great choice for businesses, developers, and high-traffic websites. Network Speed Test I conducted a ping test targeting Google’s servers to evaluate the network performance of HostArmada’s VPS hosting.  Results:  Packet Loss: 0% Average Latency: 2.13ms Round-Trip Times: 2.05 (Minimum), 2.13ms (Average), 2.31 (Maximum) The low latency indicates a fast and highly responsive network connection, making HostArmada VPS ideal for hosting websites that require quick data retrieval. The 0% package loss means every single data packet was sent and returned successfully.  The minimal variation in latency values (standard deviation of 0.08ms) highlights the stability of the connection. Stability Test To assess the server’s stability, I ran a stress test using Apache Benchmark (ab).  Server Details:  CPU: 4 Cores RAM: 8 GB  Storage: 160 GB NVMe Bandwidth: 5 TB Through my stability tests, I found HostArmada servers to experience zero failures and high throughput, as well as quick response times and scalability. However, there were occasional latency spikes indicating room for optimization.  Results:  Requests: 166.23/second Transfer

Ultahost review

In this UltaHost review, I’ll share with you my thoughts on the host’s features, pricing, support, as well as do a real-time test to measure important performance metrics that matter for your website. Let’s dive in! Founded in 2018, Ultahost is a hosting greenhorn and one of the youngest on the market. However, the company has grown quite significantly and is starting to get on the radar of webmasters looking for the next best solution for their needs. Ultahost holds a remarkable 4.9-star rating from 1013 reviews on Hostadvice, highlighting that a vast majority of its users are exceptionally pleased with its offerings, especially noting its superior services and user-friendliness. Ultahost does not have a BBB rating despite being a U.S. company. However, on Trustpilot, they rate 4.6/5.0 from over 272 reviews. Ultahost offers shared hosting, VPS, WordPress, a hybrid VDS (virtual dedicated), full-blown dedicated and reseller. They also offer email hosting plus other niche-specific packages like social network hosting and ecommerce hosting. In my view, Ultahost is ideal for small to medium-sized businesses and individual site owners, including bloggers, needing reliable, secure hosting. It’s also well-suited for e-commerce platforms and developers seeking advanced hosting options like VPS and dedicated servers for greater control and customization. UltaHost may not be the best fit for large enterprises with complex, specialized needs, or those with very minimal hosting needs. Ultahost Features Free domain & SSL Free daily backups & migration SSD servers Real-time malware protection Multi-panel support Ultahost offers a ton of great features but what really makes it stand out are its highly transparent pricing plans and all the freebies that come out-of-the-box. Many hosts offer discounted prices that renew at much higher prices after the first year. Ultahost’s pricing plans are transparent and billed either monthly or annually. Learn more about Ultahost:  UltahostUltaHost delivers customized hosting solutions for all, from rookies to industry giants, emphasizing their superior VPS and managed hosting services for hassle-free website functionality. Ultahost Performance The performance of any host you are considering is one important factor to consider. And what performance metrics matter the most for your website? And how do you get an average measurement of a host’s performance? Speed; uptime; and average load times! Speed measures how quickly the servers send data to a user visiting your website. Uptime measures how much of the time your host’s servers are online. Load time measures how quickly your web pages are fully loaded and functional. Google recommends a fully loaded time of 1-2 seconds for the best results. I tested Ultahost’s performance on GTMetrix by running the host’s domain through the tool. To get more accurate results, it’d be better to use a website hosted on Ultahost but I couldn’t find any despite asking the help agents. Well, these were the results: On GTMetrix, Ultahost.com had a great response time and an overall performance of 98%, well above the average Level Of Support And here comes the good part. Ultahost has a very healthy support hub providing help 24/7 via: Live chat A human live chat box is always a relief in this era of bots and automated responses. The agent joined in less than 30 seconds which is very impressive. They answered most of my questions and were courteous. My only issue with the live chat was the portal closed once I minimized the browser window. Phone Ultahost offers support via its helplines available in the U.S.A and Turkey (where they were found). I tried calling the line but couldn’t reach them from Nigeria (where I’m writing this from). Email Ultahost offers email support – which is becoming scarce among other providers: Ticket As an extension of the host’s email support, you can also open support tickets with agents assigned to your case until you find a solution: To open a support ticket, all you need to put in is your name, email, phone number and then any details you want to share. Video guides Another rare support gem many other hosts don’t provide – maybe because it takes some effort to create –video guides. As a visual learner, I always appreciate detailed video tutorials that explain complex ideas in plain English and Ultahost does just that: Knowledgebase And finally, the good old knowledgebase with a built-in search engine sifting through hundreds of FAQs and getting-started guides: User-Friendliness – Ease of use How easy is it to get started with Ultahost and set up the basic tools and apps? Let’s find out! Registration Want to get started on Ultahost? Simply pay for one of their plans, fill in the details and you’re good to go. Using their shared plans as an example, click ‘Order’: Next, choose whether you want to register a new domain or use an existing domain you have. Fill in the domain name and extension (.com, .net, etc.) and move forward. Ultahost allows you to choose several payment plans – monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, annually, biennially, or triennially. Pick one, choose your server location, the kind of SSL certificate, whether you want their free website builder, and any extra addon. Click ‘Continue’ and proceed to the checkout page. Here, fill in your payment details, your account details, any extra add-ons and proceed. And voila! You’d have an account on the host and can confirm your details in an email sent to you. Ultahost control panel After joining the platform, you’d be able to access your client dashboard and from here, 1-click access to the host’s modern cPanel. Ultahost uses cPanel for all its backend tweaks: Giving you control over your domains, email, databases and other mission-critical functions. Installing WordPress on Ultahost The quickest and most convenient way to install WordPress on your Ultahost account is to sign up for one of the host’s WordPress plans. On every WordPress plan, you get automatic WordPress installs, a WordPress staging tool, WordPress plugins, and WordPress backup tools. Adding an email on Ultahost You can create and add an email to your domain name in your cPanel account on Ultahost. Once you’re in, navigate to ‘Email Accounts’ under ‘Email’. Click ‘CREATE’ and fill in the necessary email info –

BlueHost Review

What is BlueHost? In search of a web host recommended by WordPress? Find out why Bluehost is one of the best WordPress web hosts in our Bluehost review. BlueHost is a powerful hosting platform that mainly dedicates their hosting to WordPress based websites. They were founded in 2003 in Provo, Utah, where their headquarters remain to this day. They currently have over 2 million websites all over the world. Bluehost claim that there’s thousands of new websites added every single day. I figured there must be a reason for this, so I decided to write an unbiased and honest review based on actual experience. With a team of almost one thousand members, BlueHost has a reach for fast customer service times. It’s my job to test their features by purchasing a hosting plan and putting BlueHost to the test! VISIT BLUEHOST.COM (£2.30/MONTH) Check out our step-by-step guide to signing up to BlueHost and getting your first WordPress website live here. Packages & Pricing One of the things that separates BlueHost from other competitors and a lot of other major service providers is that they offer a wide variety of packages. I’ve personally tested all of the functionality on BlueHost and want to let you in on their secrets! There are three different options for shared web hosting on BlueHost. First, you have your basic package which comes with a few restrictions. Basic Package (£2.30/Month): With BlueHost’s basic package you get 1 website, 50 GB website space, 5 parked domains, 25 subdomains, 5 email accounts, and 100 MB storage per email account. If you’re happy to dish out on an extra £2 per month, you’ll be able to enjoy many more features as well as unlimited space and bandwidth. A superb choice for medium to large websites, or even online stores. Plus Package (£4.25/Month): With BlueHost’s plus package you get unlimited websites, space, bandwidth, parked domains, email accounts, and email storage – ideal if you’re looking for a mid-range plan with no limits. You’ll also receive £150 worth of marketing offers and credits for free – a handy little bonus to get your marketing campaign set up! If you liked what you saw with the Plus Package then you’d be silly not to sign up to the Prime Package. Their promotional price drives a hard bargain that is absolutely not to be missed. Prime Package (£4.25/Month) – PROMOTION PRICE:  Currently at an absolute bargain, BlueHost’s prime package comes with the same benefits as their plus package, as well as SpamExperts, Domain Privacy, and Site Backup. Perfect for businesses or for those who want a little bit extra. BlueHost Pricing Summary I’d consider BlueHost’s pricing plans to be extremely affordable, especially given that their premium (prime) package is now only £4 per month! To put it into perspective, that’s probably the cost of your lunch, and it’s definitely worthwhile. Unlike most other web host’s, BlueHost have NO hidden fees when signing up, so what you see is what you get. This (to me) is such a relief. I can’t tell you how frustrating it is to think you’ve got a bargain, only to find out there’s loads of hidden fees on top. VISIT BLUEHOST.COM (£2.30/MONTH) When you sign up with any of BlueHost’s plans, you’ll receive a free domain for 1 year, which I think is pretty handy, especially if you’re starting your website from scratch. Usability This is one area where BlueHost truly excels in. When it comes to the ease of use for customers, BlueHost has designed easy to understand interfaces for hosting of all levels. Whether it’s the backend billing system or the WHM access, I was thoroughly impressed with how easy it was to find everything. It might take you a little while to get used to where everything is the first few times you access the back end, but it’s very convenient and easy to use. All of BlueHost’s plans come with 1-Click installs, including the usual and popular WordPress, Magento, etc. making it very easy to manage your hosting, domains, websites, and databases all in one place. For beginners or experts, BlueHost’s control panel will glide you through the process without any confusion. For resellers, you’ll get access to a control panel that allows you to transfer domains, register domains and manage all of your clients in one centralized place. We could manage the DNS for all of our clients, set up accounts for new clients or manage accounts for existing clients. Also, for sites that are hacked, BlueHost offers some level of support but they do cost money. Performance & Uptime Performance and uptime statistics are incredibly important when choosing a web host; if you’ve gone to the effort of building or having a website created for you, you want the world to see it right? BlueHost promise blazing speeds, but it’s no good me just taking their word for it – I wanted to check it out for myself (that’s why I’m here). As promised, I signed up to BlueHost using their Basic Package, which included a free domain name and free installation of WordPress. I set up our website and registered with Pingdom in order to monitor our website, hosted with BlueHost, to keep track of our pagespeed, uptime, and performance. Obtaining real time data is the only way to ensure that I can provide you with valid test results, so let’s take a look at the results. Load Time – Unoptimised WordPress site Using our test website, we received a page speed load time of just 1.8 seconds, and a performance grade of B (83/100). Averaging out at 85% faster than most other web hosts, without any plugins or addons to improve page performance. Considering the data we used, we were really impressed with the figures that Pingdom provided to us; being a UK based web review, we wanted to gain tangible data by testing within Europe. Load Time – Optimised WordPress site BlueHost’s WordPress web hosting comes with a selection of useful tools and features. These features can help to optimise any WordPress website, including

SiteGround Review

What is SiteGround?  Interested in signing up to SiteGround? Read our SiteGround review for the low-down on this popular web host. Like a lot of great ideas, SiteGround was a concept in the mind of a few friends during its inception in 2004. Unknown to them, SiteGround would explode into a popular web hosting service used by thousands upon thousands of people every single day. SiteGround now handles over 2 million domains worldwide, so it’s easy to see why so many people put their trust in them. Quite impressive, hey? I personally use SiteGround for all of my sites (including this one). VISIT SITEGROUND.COM (£2.99/MONTH) Packages & Pricing SiteGround offers a wealth of hosting services, including shared web hosting, managed WordPress hosting, WooCommerce hosting, cloud hosting, and more. Worldwide there are over 1 billion websites live on the internet, each hosted on a server. Whilst SiteGround may seem like they offer the ‘usual’ in terms of what you’d expect a web host to offer, you’ll see in this SiteGround review just how awesome their features are. When deciding on a web host, there is a lot to consider, such as, what features the provider offers, where their servers are located, eCommerce opportunities, security, etc.. SiteGround covers all of the basic requirements, as well as going above and beyond by providing helpful tools and features to enhance your website in terms of performance and quality, and provides an outstanding level of customer support. Shared Web Hosting Before we take a look at the shared hosting plans in more detail, I’d like to draw your attention to the fact that SiteGround’s managed WordPress hosting is actually the same price as their shared hosting plans. That means you can enjoy the following features and benefits if you want to host a WordPress website: Free automated WordPress transfer (easily transfer your existing WordPress website from your old hosting provider to SiteGround) WordPress auto-update (in-house auto-update feature that takes backups and upgrades your WordPress application when there is a new WordPress version or update, including plugins) WordPress advanced security (strict security audit procedures) WordPress configuration (WP support, setup, and troubleshooter) SG Optimizer (in-house developed WP plugin that leverages NGINX-based dynamic cache to speed up your WordPress website) Shared Hosting Plans There are three different levels of shared hosting available at SiteGround. This review is based on the “StartUp” plan.  StartUp (£2.99/month): With SiteGround’s StartUp plan you’ll get 1 website, 10 GB webspace, and all of their essential features which include a free CDN, free SSL certificate, email accounts, and daily backups. Since their recent update in 2021, this plan also features SiteGround’s Supercacher which enhances your site’s loading speed. If you’re worried about security, Siteground’s daily backups are also included in the StartUp plan, at different geolocations. SiteGround say that this plan is ideal if you’re receiving 10,000 or fewer visitors on a monthly basis. A perfect solution for those with a small blog or personal website. GrowBig (£4.99/month): The GrowBig plan is the middleman, offering multiple websites, 20 GB webspace, as well as essential and premium features. GrowBig is probably the best value for money given it also includes on-demand backups, ultrafast PHP setup, and staging/collaborate features for developers and freelancers. One of my personal favourite premium features is SiteGround’s caching technology which really makes a difference to users who are located further away from your website’s server. If you’re looking to expand your website’s traffic up to 25,000 visitors or less per month, this would be your best option. GoGeek (£9.99/month): For users who want multiple websites, 40 GB webspace, and more premium features, the GoGeek package would be a suitable option. GoGeek offers the highest tier of resources, and boasts a white-label option for resellers. The Geek Advance features include Git Repository friendly software and you won’t share a server with as many people, so you’ll receive faster speeds and less downtime. GoGeek customers get more resources, priority support, and dev tools which makes it the complete VIP package. Both GrowBig and GoGeek customers will have access to SiteGround’s migrator plugin which is super easy to use, allowing you to migrate your website from another host for free.  VISIT SITEGROUND.COM (£2.99/MONTH) SiteGround Hosting Plans All of SiteGround’s hosting plans include managed WordPress hosting; which includes the ever-popular 1-click installer, automatic updates, and command line management. SiteGround’s servers are optimized for the best WordPress performance and are actually recommended by WordPress. More than that, SiteGround is always among the first to update to the latest software, including the latest PHP versions, and security updates. We must remind ourselves of two things: Firstly, unlimited doesn’t necessarily mean completely unlimited, as you will find out if you delve into a web host’s terms and conditions. Secondly, most websites on average will not use more than 5GB storage space, so even on SiteGround’s most basic hosting plan, you’re getting double the average amount required. When you choose a web hosting plan with SiteGround, you will have the option to choose where the data centre is located, covering the U.S., Europe, Asia, and the U.K. – although this may not be of concern to most customers, it’s a great feature to have. Usability & Features: Ease of use is a big concern for people who aren’t tech-savvy. One of the great things that SiteGround has done for their users is they’ve made it so that anyone can install and understand how WordPress works. I’ll admit, when I first started my WordPress journey, I didn’t have the foggiest on where to begin! Web host’s like SiteGround ease this pressure and make the process much more enjoyable (trust me on this one).   SiteGround’s account management system is self-explanatory and user-friendly. It’s easy to add additional services, perform 1-click installations like WordPress, and navigate directly to your control panel to manage your web hosting. If you’re a new or existing customer, you may have noticed the recent switch over to SiteGround’s Site Tools. Ditching cPanel, this web host has developed their own platform which provides more flexibility and usability for its customers. I know this might seem like a lot of information, and may even

ShareHostinger is best known for its global reach when hosting websites. It is popular because you can overcome some of the gnarliest privacy and data storage laws because of the spread of its worldwide operation. It is also affordable and reliable, all essential in any IT provision. My question dives into whether Hostinger delivers in the competitive website builder market. There are some outstanding sites out there that provide easy-to-use interfaces for the almost instant creation of my website. With such mainstays as Wix and Weebly available to users, I’d like to know if anything sets Hostinger apart in 2025. Having tested its features and explored pricing, performance, and usability, I am ready to recommend Hostinger’s website builder—with one or two caveats. Pros and Cons+ Easy to use + AI offers instant answers + Affordable – Limited functionality for those who have experience developing websites – Few third-party integrations – No phone support for when things get challenging Packages and Pricing At the time of writing, Hostinger was offering a significant deal. For four years, you could sign up for a package with access to the website builder and domain for less than £200, which is exceptional value. The website builder is integrated into their web hosting plans, so its access comes with many extras. Once you step outside of this limited-time offer, Hostinger is still affordable, with packages starting at £11.99. However, if you are coming to Hostinger because of the buzz around the AI functionality available, much of this is only available if you upgrade to the business premium subscription. Also, as you work through the early setup, you are presented with various ways to increase the cost of building your website, including custom domain and email hosting. The good news is that you don’t have to make these extra choices until you play with the web builder. Unfortunately, the same is not valid for the basic hosting charges, which you must subscribe to before you begin. You are charged for the whole period. Money-Back GuaranteeThere is a 30-day money-back guarantee, which Hostinger honours relatively easily and quickly. However, competitor sites such as Wix allow the user to build the site and appreciate the value of the functionality before demanding payment. The subscription charge can come as late as the point of publishing the site with these alternatives. Therefore, the aggressive pricing policy encourages users to sign up for 48 months and auto-renew their subscriptions before trying the product. I assume this plays into people’s reluctance to claim refunds, as they fear it will be too difficult. This is a bold choice in a world of try-before-you-buy. Overall, it is worth saying that Hostinger still offers good value for money. The pricing is affordable for most small businesses and solo entrepreneurs. Building your siteHostinger has a solid suite of features to help support you in creating your website. These features include: Onboarding flowAI site generationTemplatesChecklistA drag-and-drop website editorAI logo, image and content generationSEOBlogging toolsAuto-generation mobile designMobile design functionality from an Internet browsereCommerceI didn’t find any of these tools revolutionary, and I can name a competitor platform that includes some or many of these. Hostinger has done well in bringing these features together into one easy-to-use platform. The revolution isn’t in the tools available but in the thoughtful design of the user experience. Onboarding and AIOnboarding image for the site Hostinger This website builder is for beginners or novices with tech. Hostinger understands its target market, and beginning the process with a series of binary options is reassuring. Tech-free questions based on the user’s needs meant I was quickly presented with a site. I could also use templates or AI tools that promise to build a site that is entirely personal to me. While the quality of what the AI tool can produce is restricted by my ability to come up with a reasonable prompt, Hostinger gave an example that helped me out. As with all AI tools, the outcome is always a little off-target. In my example, where I asked it to help me produce a site for a writing coach offering a course, it presented a black-and-white image of schoolchildren from the 1950s. The copy was a little closer to the mark, though it lacked the humanity you would want for your business website. Image showing the AI prompt for Hostinger The other option is to start from a template. There are 150 or more templates to choose from, and they are constructed based on the business, such as fashion, or website types, such as community. The templates were a good starting point for most people who do not have a specific design vision for their site. The templates also include recommended elements for those new to website building, such as case studies for a technology site. You can combine the AI and templates by using the option to personalise with AI in the library. I preferred combining the two tool sets, and I got closer to something I would want to publish this way. One thing to note is that you cannot switch the templates after you start building out your content. Choosing a different template means starting the build again. Key points – Aimed at those new to website building – Easy onboarding – Guided AI, which offers a fair starting point The website builder editorThe evaluation of the AI tool as being a little clunky and dependent on the user’s skill is not revolutionary. All AI is only as good as the user. My ability to express and understand my vision for my business will limit the output. AI, as yet, is not a mind reader. Fortunately, Hostinger
