Linode review

Monthly Update – May 2022 Hosting Plans VPS Hosting; Dedicated Hosting Top Features Dedicated CPUs, High Memory, GPUs, Bare Metal, Kubernetes, Block Storage, Object Storage, Backups, Cloud Firewalls, DDoS Protection, A DNS Manager, NodeBalancers, VLAN; Control Panel Integration; CMS Support; Pay by Usage; Usage and Performance Tracking; File Management Customer Support Ticketing System; Email and Phone Support; Live Chat; Knowledge Base   During May, Linode Hosting: Performed scheduled LISH, Weblish, Glish Console emergency maintenance. Had a service issue with Lassie. Had service issues with multiple data centers. Had a service issue with its Object Storage service. Performed scheduled network maintenance on its Tokyo 2 data centers. Had issues with IPv6 on its Newark data center. Performed scheduled maintenance on the Linode Kubernetes Engine. Performed scheduled network maintenance on its Mumbai data center. Performed scheduled emergency network maintenance on its Newark data center. Linode was developed with the intention of helping users simplify their cloud infrastructure through Linux virtual machines alongside a robust set of tools to develop, deploy and even scale modern applications on a faster scale. The company believes that virtual computing has to be accessible to all and simple to understand. Linode was founded by Christopher Anker in 2003, making it a well-established company. With over 200 employees and decades in the industry, let’s see how they stack up and if they actually deliver on their promises and goals. When it comes to their products, they offer shared hosting, dedicated CPU, high memory, GPU, bare metal, Kubernetes, block storage, object storage, backups, cloud firewalls, DDoS protection, a DNS manager, NodeBalancers, VLAN, and a lot more. Keep in mind that Linode even offers a 1 week free trial on GPU High-Performance Cloud computing, which will allow you to test things before making a commitment to the service. There’s also a unique referral program, where if someone signs up using your referral URL, you will receive a credit of $20, but the person has to remain an active customer for 90 days and spend at least $15 for you to receive this credit. To test things out, I’ll go through the shared hosting route to see just what kind of an experience even the newest users that want to engage in online hosting will receive. Getting Started With Linode Making an account, and connecting everything is actually quite enjoyable as well as a simple process at Linode. All you have to do is open up the official website and find the Sign-Up button on the screen’s top right corner. Alternatively, you also have the Create Account button somewhere along the middle, which is always convenient. You can even sign up with GitHub if that is your preferred way. You’ll need to create an account. Here, you’ll need to enter your email, username, and password. They’ll send you an email. Next, you’ll need to log into your account and once you find the email, click on confirm. After that, you’ll just need to enter your billing information. And that’s about it, now you can click on the Go To Cloud Manager button to get started. Setting Things Up at Linode Once you log in, you’ll be greeted by this screen. Let’s see what we can do on the left navigation bar. You have: Linodes – these are essentially the servers you’ll be using. You can create shared CPU, Dedicated CPU, and high memory or GPU servers here to fill your specific needs. Here you can modify a few things, and we’ll get into the pricing later on, but basically, for the testing phase, I’ll be using the Nanode 1 GB, which is the cheapest option. When it comes to the operating systems, you have a lot of options, and by default, Debian 10 is selected. You also have Ubuntu, and so on, but for my testing, I’ll be using my favorite, CentOS 7. In terms of region, I’ll select Frankfurt as it’s the closest server to my specific geographic location, but pick one that’s based on either your location or the location of your target visitors for the best results.

Netcup review

Expert Overview German Hosting since 2008 Netcup has been in business since 2008 offering a variety of different web services.  They currently have about 24,000 customers from around the world.  They operate out of a datacenter located in Nuremberg, Germany, which has multiple layers of redundancy for power and network connections.  This helps to ensure your services are always available.  In addition to hosting you can get other services like DDoS protection, domain name registration, SSL certificates and more. They offer ‘root’ hosting, which is essentially a VPS.  In addition, they have managed and umanaged servers, colocation services and more.  Their site is fairly simplistic.  When you translate it into English it can be a little hard to read in some areas, but overall they have done a good job.  If you’re looking for hosting in Germany, this is not a bad option to consider. Uptime & Reliability Hosting is Quite Stable Looking at the data center configuration as well as the great hardware they use for their hosting, there is no reason to think you would ever run into any type of downtime.  They don’t seem to have an uptime guarantee that I could find, but I also couldn’t find any users complaining about downtime or other issues, so the chances are everyone will have an excellent experience. Features Good Quality Hosting Features When browsing through the different hosting packages you will see that they have all the features listed clearly so you can see exactly what you are getting.  For their root server options you will get an Intel CPU core, 2-24 gigs of RAM, 40-640 gigs of SATA disk space along with optional solid state drives for most of the packages. If you need something more powerful you can upgrade to their dedicated servers or even colocation services.  The dedicated servers are HP branded hardware with custom configuration to help ensure you are getting exactly what you need.  They have done a great job at selecting high quality servers that are still affordable for most people. Support Friendly Tech Support The tech support is easy to get in touch with by submitting an email, a ticket or giving them a call on the phone.  They are available 24/7 to address any type of issue you might be having.  Their site doesn’t have very much informational or educational information on it so if you want to learn something, you will need to go to another page. Pricing Reasonable Price Points The pricing is all quite reasonable no matter what package you choose.  The VPS solutions actually have a couple options that are great deals for people who just need shared hosting but want the extra control of a VPS.  If you move up to the dedicated servers they make you click to an extra page to see the price, which is a little annoying, but not a huge deal.  Overall, the prices are right where they should be for what you are getting. User Friendly Friendly Company with Some Issues Their site is easy to use, but they occasionally add in extra steps that shouldn’t be there to get what you want.  In addition, their English translation of their site really isn’t that great.  You can certainly get their meaning, but it would be nice if they had it written more clearly.  Should you have to talk to their sales or tech team you will have no issues getting what you need. Summary Good German Hosting For those who are targeting a German or European audience, this is a good hosting company to consider.  They have a lot to offer at a reasonable price and overall there are only some very small things to complain about. Pros: Quality Hardware Excellent Data Center Cons: English version of site has some trouble No real shared hosting

Digital Ocean review

DigitalOcean Review Founded in 2011, DigitalOcean has quickly grown to host over 2 million websites. DigitalOcean is headquartered in New York City, New York. They offer a range of services, including managed cloud hosting, virtual machines, and storage solutions, including block storage, object storage, and distributed file systems. However, it’s important to note that DigitalOcean is not BBB accredited and has a BBB rating of D-. Additionally, the company has a low rating on Trustpilot, with an overall rating of 2.1 out of 5 stars, based on 487 reviews. I would caution that there may be issues with customer support and satisfaction.   Pros and Cons Pros Easy-to-use interface 60-day credit for new users High-performance infrastructure Customizable virtual machines with flexible pricing Free backups and snapshots API and integration options Good uptime and reliability DevOps and automation Has a large developer community Features Managed cloud hosting, Droplets, Kubernetes, Database etc 1-Click Apps Marketplace (WordPress etc) Let’s Encrypt SSL certificate Built-in Spaces CDN Free Migration cPanel & WHM I found their 1-click apps marketplace to be the most useful and unique feature. Even though you’re dealing with cloud hosting, it’s easy to set up WordPress, cPanel, and other applications in one click. You can also enjoy the flexibility of customizing your server settings to match your application needs, while also benefiting from exceptional cost-effectiveness and reliability.   Performance Performance is another crucial factor to consider when choosing a web host. Three key factors are important when it comes to testing performance: speed, loading time, and uptime. It’s important to keep in mind that overall performance and uptime are not the same. DigitalOcean guarantees a 99.99% uptime, meaning that your website will be accessible 99.99% of the time, which is the current industry standard. To determine the performance of DigitalOcean, I tested a website hosted on their platform ( https://www.repositioningcruise.com/ ) on GTMetrix. Here are the results: On GTMetrix, the website loaded fully in 1.0 s and had an impressive 329 ms response time. The site also gave 100% performance:   Level Of Support Phone DigitalOcean does not currently offer phone support as a means of customer assistance which is a huge disappointment. Email They offer email support for general questions or issues that are not urgent. Online ticketing They also 24/7 via ticketing system – you can submit a support ticket for assistance with any issues you’re experiencing with their platform. They also offer a SLA for their support services, which guarantees a response time within the given time frame for critical issues. Live chat Live chat is only available as a premium support feature. Community DigitalOcean’s community is a great place to find answers to common questions and troubleshoot issues. I personally find this to be very effective in solving problems. Documentation DigitalOcean has a comprehensive documentation center that covers all aspects of using their platform. The documentation is organized by topic, making it easy to find the information you need. Tutorials DigitalOcean provides a wide variety of tutorials that cover different topics such as how to set up a LAMP stack, deploy a Node.js app, or move a website to DigitalOcean.   User-Friendliness – Easy of use Registration Registration process on DigitalOcean is extremely easy. Their web design is quite intuitive and you have the option to sign up with Github or Google. You can start your 60 day free-trial right away. Just type your email and password and click on “Start my 60 day free trial”. You will be asked to validate your email before registration is completed. DigitalOcean Control Panel The DigitalOcean Control Panel has a user-friendly interface that allows for easy management of all aspects of your DigitalOcean account, including droplets, domains, load balancers, and more. It provides a centralized location to monitor and control your resources, as well as perform common tasks such as creating and configuring droplets, managing backups, and setting up monitoring and alerting. Installing WordPress on DigitalOcean Installing WordPress on DigitalOcean is easy. You just have to install pre-configured droplets from the “One-click apps” marketplace. Log in to your DigitalOcean account and go to the “Create” > “Create Droplets” Now select “Get started with a Droplet” button Add some basic information and choose a region that’s closest to your current location: Scroll down to “Choose an image” > “OS Marketplace” and install “Wordpress” Optionally, you can add SSH keys, backups and monitoring. Click the “Create Droplet” button to deploy the droplet. Once the droplet is created, you can find the server’s IP address, username and password in the droplet’s detail page. Add an email account with DigitalOcean DigitalOcean does not offer email accounts as part of their standard offerings. DigitalOcean primarily focuses on providing infrastructure as a service (IaaS) which includes virtual servers (Droplets), block storage, and load balancers. If you want to use email service, you can use third-party email providers like Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoho Mail, etc. These providers offer email hosting services, and you can set up your custom email addresses with your domain.   Conclusion: Do We Recommend DigitalOcean? I highly recommend DigitalOcean to anyone who wants to switch to cloud hosting. This company is well-known for its simplicity, affordability, and scalability. Like I mentioned above, it’s incredibly easy to manage and deploy resources on the cloud with DigitalOcean’s control panel. Their pricing is transparent and pay as you go, which makes it a great option for developers and small businesses who want to start small and scale as they grow. One of the things that I find unique about DigitalOcean is that their infrastructure is built on top of SSDs which means you get fast disk I/O and network transfer. This makes it a great option for hosting web applications, databases, and other high-performance workloads. They also have a wide range of pre-configured one-click apps for popular applications, such as WordPress, which makes it easy to deploy a new application quickly. In terms of support, they have a robust knowledge base and tutorials that can help you to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly. They also have a 24/7 support ticket system, which guarantees a

Hetzner  Review

Hetzner is a German web hosting and cloud service provider known for its competitive pricing and focus on performance. While it offers a range of services, including dedicated servers, VPS, and cloud hosting, its primary appeal lies in its cost-effectiveness, particularly for users in Europe.  Pros: Affordable Pricing: Hetzner is often praised for its low prices, especially on dedicated servers and VPS.   Strong Performance: They offer good performance, particularly in Europe, due to their data centers in Germany and Finland.   Dedicated Servers: Hetzner excels in the dedicated server market, offering a wide range of options.   Good Connectivity: They have a solid network infrastructure, providing good connectivity.   GDPR Compliance: Being a German company, Hetzner adheres to strict GDPR standards.   DDoS Protection: Hetzner has robust DDoS protection measures to safeguard against attacks.   Cons: Support:Support can be limited for unmanaged services, and some users have reported negative experiences with support in general.   Limited Geographic Reach:Hetzner’s primary strength is in Europe, and its services may not be ideal for users in other regions.   Signup Process:Some users have found the sign-up process to be difficult.   Potential for Scams and Attacks:Like many hosting providers, Hetzner has been targeted by scammers and attacks, affecting some users.   In Conclusion:Hetzner is a solid choice for users seeking affordable and performant hosting solutions, especially within Europe. However, potential users should be aware of the limitations regarding support and the geographic scope of their services. If you prioritize affordability and performance, especially in Europe, Hetzner is a strong contender.  Founded in 1997, Hetzner Online (or Hetzner for short) is a German web hosting provider and data center operator aimed at individual users and businesses alike. The company bears the name of its founder, Martin Hetzner, whose vision was to make a perfect mix of strong and stable technology, flexible services, pocket-friendly pricing, and competent customer support. For the most part, this vision appears to be realized.   Hetzner offers everything from simple shared hosting solutions to managed servers, cloud hosting, VPS, dedicated server hosting, domain registration, colocation services, as well as on-demand custom solutions. They also offer a server auction site where you have a chance to rent dedicated servers with a bit older hardware, which is a sensible solution both from an economic and ecological point of view. The price tags of Hetzner’s products are also quite appealing, however, we have yet to see how competent their customer support is.   Want to try out Hetzner Online? Check out the website here The company is headquartered in Gunzenhausen (Germany), and its data centers can be found in Nuremberg (Germany), Falkenstein (Germany), and Helsinki (Finland). You can find all technical specifications about the data centers on their site, and even take a virtual tour (in 360°) through their Nuremberg center. Striving to set an example of eco-friendliness, Hetzner uses energy from renewable sources only, including hydropower in Germany, a combination of wind and hydropower in Finland, and investing in energy-efficient hardware. Hetzner’s official site looks a bit old-fashioned (but in a good way), user-friendly, and is available in English, German, and Russian language.   If you want to find Hetzner on social media sites, check out Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube. Hetzner offers different levels of plans to meet the needs of your website (Image credit: Hetzner Online) Pricing On Hetzner’s official site you’ll find a decent variety of dedicated servers, VPS packages, shared hosting, custom solutions, as well as colocation, management, and other services. The smallest shared hosting solution called “Level 1” starts at €1.60 ($1.85) per month, but you’ll have an additional once-off setup fee of €8.32 ($9.65) which spikes up the price pretty quickly. With more expensive plans this setup fee drops, and with the biggest plan going for €16.72 ($19.35) per month there are no setup fees at all. The “Level 1” plan includes one free domain name (.de, .com, .net, .org, .at, .be, .info, .biz, .eu, .name and .nl are available), 10GB of disk space (NVMe SSD), unlimited traffic, 50 sub-domains, daily backups (for 14 days), an SSL certificate, and daily compilations of detailed log files. “Level 1” plan is the only one that doesn’t allow any add-on domain, while you can have between 5 and 20 of them with other plans. If you cancel Hetzner’s plan within 14 days, you should receive a refund, although the company gives close to no information about its money-back guarantee. As for payment methods, Hetzner accepts all major credit cards, PayPal, SEPA, and bank/wire transfers. Ease of use Since Hetzner’s hosting solutions are properly presented with all of their features and fees, opting for one of them shouldn’t be too time-consuming. If you’re new to Hetzner, you’ll be asked to create an account before you can purchase any of their products. To do so, you’ll have to fill in a rather lengthy form containing your full name, title, organization, postal address, telephone/fax, email address, and come up with a password. You can purchase additional products from Hetzner’s konsoleH control panel (Image credit: Hetzner Online) After this, you’ll receive a client number to use when logging in, both on the next page and in an email in case you forget it (and of course you will). Upon logging in, you’ll be taken to Hetzner’s control panel called konsoleH where you can continue with your purchase or add other products (domain name, hosting packages, additional storage space, management services, SSL certificates, and so on). Before making a purchase you’ll also need to select a billing cycle (monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, annually), and a payment method. Although far from being a looker, once you understand how konsoleH works, you’ll be navigating your way around it without any trouble. It may not be as user-friendly as industry-leading cPanel but it’s as simple as custom-made control panels can get. If you get stuck along the way, be sure to check out how-tos that are available on konsoleH or get in touch with the support staff. KonsoleH also offers a WebFTP feature with which you can upload your website (given you have one), or you can do it by using the usual FTP system. Hetzner provides easy installation for WordPress,

Namecheap Review

In this Namecheap WordPress hosting review, I was genuinely surprised by what I discovered. While the general Namecheap review ratings on HostAdvice show 2.4 from 198 customer reviews, their WordPress hosting solution tells a completely different story. Let me be direct. Namecheap’s WordPress hosting is a hidden gem in the managed hosting space. Their EasyWP platform challenges industry giants with a bold promise: WordPress deployment in 90 seconds and performance three times faster than traditional hosting. What caught my attention wasn’t just the speed benchmarks but their innovative cloud infrastructure that practically eliminates the common headaches of WordPress hosting. Combining enterprise-level features like CDN, SSL, and automatic scaling with surprisingly affordable pricing, they’ve created something that deserves a closer look. But before you make any decisions, let’s dig into what I discovered during my extensive testing. Features Quick setup in under 90 seconds Free 30-day trial with no commitment 3x faster than traditional shared hosting Hosted on optimized Namecheap Cloud technology Scalable plans for growing website traffic Free SSL certificate for secure connections Free CDN for faster global content delivery Simple one-click backups and restores Easy-to-use dashboard for site management Maintenance mode for site development privacy SFTP access for secure file management Free PositiveSSL included in all plans 99.9% uptime guarantee for reliable performance Performance When evaluating a hosting provider like Namecheap WordPress Hosting, the infrastructure is pivotal in determining website performance. While testing actual shared hosting accounts might offer a more precise picture, testing the performance of their brand website using tools like GTmetrix and Google PageSpeed gives us valuable insights into their hosting environment. Here’s what the results suggest about the infrastructure powering Namecheap WordPress Hosting. 1. GTmetrix Results The GTmetrix test for Namecheap’s website, conducted from Vancouver, Canada, shows impressive metrics: Performance Score: 93% Structure Score: 90% Largest Contentful Paint (LCP): 382ms Time to First Byte (TTFB): 121ms Fully Loaded Time: 3.1s These results highlight a well-optimized infrastructure capable of delivering content quickly and reliably. The TTFB of 121ms is excellent, indicating a responsive backend that efficiently handles user requests.  The LCP of 382ms further emphasizes the speed at which the most critical content is rendered for users. This suggests that Namecheap’s infrastructure prioritizes fast data delivery, likely leveraging solid-state drives (SSDs) and efficient server configurations. The slightly longer Fully Loaded Time of 3.1 seconds is attributed to the tested page’s size and complexity, with a 1.58MB total page size and 69 requests. This aligns with a robust hosting setup capable of handling multiple requests and serving a variety of content types seamlessly. What These Results Say About Namecheap’s Infrastructure Fast and Reliable Servers:The low TTFB and LCP values indicate that Namecheap’s servers are responsive and speed optimized. This suggests that their WordPress hosting infrastructure is built on modern hardware, likely powered by Namecheap Cloud Technology, which is advertised for its scalability and performance. Optimized for Content Delivery:The results show evidence of using CDNs, which help reduce latency by caching content closer to users. This aligns with their inclusion of free CDN in all plans, further validating that their WordPress hosting is designed to handle global traffic effectively. User-Centric Performance:Metrics like First Contentful Paint and Largest Contentful Paint highlight the focus on delivering visible content quickly, making the user experience smoother. The emphasis on features like 99.9% uptime and fast page loads is clearly reflected in these test results. Room for Improvement:While overall performance is strong, the slightly longer Fully Loaded Time and moderate Total Blocking Time suggest opportunities for further JavaScript optimization. However, these factors may not significantly affect most WordPress hosting users, especially those with lighter or optimized websites. Verdict: Infrastructure That Supports Solid Performance The performance metrics from GTmetrix and PageSpeed indicate that Namecheap WordPress Hosting’s infrastructure is designed for speed and reliability. Features like SSD storage, integrated CDN, and cloud-based scalability clearly contribute to a robust environment capable of handling both personal blogs and small business websites effectively. For users considering Namecheap WordPress Hosting, the infrastructure promises a well-balanced mix of affordability, speed, and reliability. These results reflect a platform prioritizing delivering a positive user experience, making it a strong contender for budget-conscious WordPress site owners. Level of Support for Namecheap WordPress Hosting Namecheap WordPress Hosting offers a variety of support channels to assist users with their hosting needs. I reviewed all of them to give you a comprehensive impression of what you can expect. The main support options are 24/7 Live Chat, 24/7 Help Desk, and Email Support. Here’s how each one works and my experience using them. 1. 24/7 Live Chat The live chat is easily accessible via the chat bubble on the bottom-right corner of the Namecheap website. Once you click it, you can select the specific type of support you need. For my test, I selected “EasyWP” and asked detailed questions about cPanel access, staging environments, and database synchronization. The experience was seamless. Within seconds, I was connected to an agent named Suzy Q, who immediately addressed my questions with clarity and detail. Suzy explained that EasyWP uses a custom dashboard instead of cPanel, simplifying WordPress management. She also highlighted that staging environments and database synchronization aren’t native features but suggested third-party solutions for these needs. I appreciated how thorough and professional the responses were. Impression: Live chat is fast, responsive, and staffed with knowledgeable agents who provide detailed answers. It’s the best option if you need instant assistance. 2. 24/7 Help Desk The help desk is a well-structured resource hub providing information for Namecheap WordPress Hosting users. It’s designed for those who prefer self-service options before contacting for direct support. While exploring the help desk, I found it very detailed and neatly organized into sections, making it easy to navigate. One standout feature is the dedicated EasyWP section, which is incredibly helpful if you’re using Namecheap’s WordPress hosting. This section includes everything from step-by-step guides to feature explanations and troubleshooting tips. For example, I found a comprehensive overview of the EasyWP dashboard that walks you through all its functionalities, like managing backups, accessing databases, and monitoring performance. Impression: The help desk is an excellent self-service resource with

HostGator review

HostGator is a popular choice because of its reliable web hosting, broad set of features, and competitive prices. It offers a variety of hosting plan options, including shared, WordPress, dedicated, and reseller hosting. Its advanced performance could be improved, so HostGator may not be the right choice for everyone. But its customer support is a standout, with 24/7 live chat, international phone lines, email support; and a load of secondary support options too, like the knowledge base, blog, and YouTube channel.  Overall, I found HostGator to be a beginner-friendly, customer-focused hosting provider. But with servers only in the US, can they really provide top-notch hosting to all users? I’ve tested this for myself.  Let’s see how HostGator compares to competitors.  Performance Throughout my GTMetrix tests, HostGator’s servers provided decent performance, despite modest uptime guarantees.  There is room for improvement when it comes to HostGator response times, which were pretty average. But I found these could be somewhat mitigated with the use of optimization tools or choosing a more powerful server plan (such as VPS or dedicated).  Results:  Grade: C Performance: 71% Structure: 90% Largest Contentful Paint: 1.1s Total Blocking Time: 618ms Cumulative Layout Shift: 0 Level of Support HostGator provides 24/7 live chat and phone support for all customers, but I noticed quite a few reviews criticizing the agents’ ability to handle specific issues, so I was eager to try it out.  Live Chat The HostGator live chat is exceptionally responsive, and gave me the answers I needed right there and then.  Before speaking to a HostGator live chat agent, I was asked to answer some screening questions. This only took around a minute, and I was connected to the agent almost instantly. I was asked for my account details. I hadn’t signed up yet, but the agent was also able to process my request as a potential new customer. The agent was able to answer my query in just a few minutes, and I was happy with the accurate, direct response. Rather than simply sending me to the knowledge base, the agent took the time to answer my question in full and in rapid time! Phone Lines HostGator has a number of phone lines, so you can make sure you’re reaching the right support agent for your issue.  Email Support You can also email HostGator‘s customer support, but this is a slower option than the Live Chat – which I found to be reliable and quick.  There’s a number of HostGator “DIY” support options, too. Let’s take a look! Knowledge Base The HostGator knowledge base is packed with useful resources. From company-specific policy information, to guides to understanding different hosting types. Blog HostGator also has a pretty extensive blog on their website, full of useful articles designed to help you learn!  I really appreciate the amount of educational resources offered by HostGator, and think it cements them as beginner-friendly and user-focused.  YouTube This one’s a bit different, and I like the unique approach! HostGator also has a YouTube channel, where they upload how-to’s, guides, and tutorials on all kinds of hosting, content, and other related topics.

Using GTmetrix, I analyzed a website hosted on BoostedHost. Compared to some competitors, the results showed room for improvement, but the overall scores were still respectable. The website achieved a performance score of 85% and a structure score of 93%, indicating that BoostedHost provides a solid foundation for website performance. The website achieved a Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) of 1.8 seconds, indicating that the page’s main content loaded quickly. Additionally, the Total Blocking Time (TBT) was 0ms, meaning no significant interactivity delays existed. The Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) score of 0.08 suggests that the website maintained a stable layout during loading, providing a good user experience. To further validate these findings, I used Pagespeed Insights. The results were equally impressive, with the website earning a performance score of 94 out of 100. The First Contentful Paint (FCP) took 0.4 seconds, and the Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) took 0.9 seconds. These metrics indicate that the website’s content was visible to users almost instantly. The Total Blocking Time (TBT) remained at 0ms, confirming the website’s responsive interactivity. The Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) score of 0.133 suggests that the website maintained a relatively stable layout during loading, although there is room for improvement. Based on these performance tests, BoostedHost prioritizes website speed and performance. Level Of Support BoostedHost offers customer support through various communication channels — live chat, phone, email, and WhatsApp. BoostedHost’s support has 24/7 availability. When testing the live chat support, I found that the AI-powered chatbot instantly responded to initial inquiries. When you have a more complex issue, you’ll be transferred to a live support representative. Email support is another reliable option. BoostedHost’s email support team has an average response time of one hour, which is relatively quick compared to industry standards. You can also submit support tickets through the ticketing system, with an average response time of 10 minutes per ticket. Here’s a ticket submitted at 16:04. And here’s BoostedHost’s response at 16:16. BoostedHost offers phone support with instant response times for those who prefer immediate verbal communication. During our interaction with BoostedHost’s support team, we found them knowledgeable, friendly, and eager to help. The support team provided clear explanations and step-by-step guidance to resolve our inquiries effectively. Kamatera review

I’ve used many hosting providers over the years, and since Kamatera has such a great reputation, I decided to test their servers myself.  Offering reliable services around the globe, Kamatera specializes in versatile cloud infrastructure, including cloud servers and hosting, reseller hosting plans, and managed cloud services.  Personally, I found the servers to perform well. And with the addition of on-demand scalability supported by pay-as-you-go pricing and a wide range of features, I’d say Kamatera is an ideal solution for websites with fluctuating traffic.  Let’s do some tests, then. Kamatera Performance I set up a Kamatera domain and input some content to simulate real-world conditions, so we could test the performance metrics using GTMetrix and Google’s PageSpeed Insights. Kamatera GTMetrix Test Results Kamatera GTMetrix results were impressive during my tests. The site loaded quickly, with a high performance score and excellent structure metrics (a clear sign of a well-optimized server setup).  There were no major issues flagged, and loading was smooth and consistent.  This kind of reliability is exactly what you want whether you’re running a content-heavy blog, an eCommerce store, or a client portfolio. Based on these results, I’d confidently recommend Kamatera for anyone who values speed, stability, and professional-grade performance. Results:  Grade: A Performance: 99% Structure: 85% Kamatera PageSpeed Insights Test Results The Pagespeed Insights test also showed excellent results across the board. Kamatera scored a perfect 100 in both Performance and Best Practices, with lightning-fast load times. This suggests strong optimization in lab conditions, despite weaker real-world GTMetrix outcomes.  Results:  Performance: 100% Accessibility: 82% Best Practices: 100% SEO: 77% First Contentful Paint: 0.3s Total Blocking Time: 0ms Speed Index: 0.7s Largest Contentful Paint: 0.5s KamateraStanding out for high-performance SSD servers, Kamatera is one of the leading providers for businesses looking for flexible, reliable web hosting solutions.Visit Kamatera Level Of Support So Kamatera performance is solid, and should be able to support a range of applications and websites. With that in mind, I wanted to see how the customer support performed.  Phone Support There are both worldwide and US-specific phone lines, as well as support lines for the Middle East. Each of the latter are subject to local business hours.  Email Support You can also contact Kamatera customer support via email. There’s three email addresses, so hopefully the inboxes don’t get too full! This includes sales, technical support, and billing & account issues.  There is also a contact form for general enquiries. Live Chat I thought I’d try out the Kamatera live chat support for myself, and I was honestly a bit disappointed.  Despite initially being in a queue, I was connected to the support agent in around a minute. I asked a straightforward question about billing and waited for a response.  Unfortunately, the agent didn’t actually answer my question, and I waited for a further 10 minutes with no response.  If you run into any more technical issues while using Kamatera hosting services, you might struggle to get quick responses from live chat or email; and there’s no real option for self-help due to the lack of knowledge base. KamateraStanding out for high-performance SSD servers, Kamatera is one of the leading providers for businesses looking for flexible, reliable web hosting solutions.Visit Kamatera Kamatera User-Friendliness & Easy of use If customer support is going to be lacking, then the Kamatera services and platforms need to be intuitive and easy to use. Let’s see how it works.  Registration Thankfully, signing up for Kamatera is a breeze – so you should at least be able to get everything up-and-running without an issue.  Simply click Get Started from the homepage, fill out your details and verify your email, and you can sign in.  Kamatera Control Panel The Kamatera cPanel is a bit different than standard, but easy enough to navigate and use. The interface is clean, and everything is pretty much where I expected it to be.  From here, you can directly manage your Kamatera cloud servers and add on services; as well as check billing information, permissions, and access customer support.  Installing WordPress on Kamatera This is where I ran into some complications, and I think beginners could struggle a bit here. First, create your server on the cloud, then choose your zone and install one of the options then given under App Images. I chose the Cyberpanel, but you can also opt for the traditional WordPress cPanel interface. Once this is installed, you’re ready to go. It didn’t take too long, but there’s a few extra steps that might complicate things for complete hosting novices.  Add an Email Account with Kamatera There aren’t any dedicated email hosting servers available with Kamatera, but you can use the cPanel to set up email accounts or use external hosting providers.  This was straightforward, and only took me a couple of minutes.  Conclusion: Do We Recommend Kamatera? While there’s definitely room for improvement, if you’ve got a project that experiences temporary surges or requires specific, dedicated cloud hosting, I reckon Kamatera might be a good hosting solution.  I like the pay-as-you-go pricing model, especially for smaller or intermittent projects, and this also offers room for scalability.  Kamatara also comes with a wide range of native cloud services, such as load balancing, auto-scaling, and cloud storage options; and they’ve got worldwide data centers for better accessibility.  But Kamatera customer service is average at best, and performance could be better optimized. It’s not all perfect, but the advanced cloud features and unique hosting solutions could be particularly useful for projects with changing traffic patterns or workloads.  If this sounds like you? I’d recommend Kamatara any day!

Verpex Hosting review

Verpex offers affordable hosting plans with strong features and an easy-to-use platform. I tested both their Linux VPS and Web Hosting options, each suited for different needs.  The shared hosting stood out with fast SSD storage and daily backups; in my opinion its a great choice for small businesses, personal websites, and startups. The Linux VPS is better for heavier workloads. It offers dedicated CPU cores, NVMe storage, and full root access. The setup process was clear, and the dashboard was user-friendly. However, I did notice slight global latency during HTTP response tests, which a CDN could help improve. If you value reliability and responsive support, Verpex delivers solid performance and great value. In this review, I will cover everything from speed tests to support so you can decide if it is the right fit for you. Ease of Use Overall, Verpex’s usability was straightforward – and I think even a beginner would be able to work it all out. I tested the whole user journey, from registration and payment, to controls and management, and was impressed throughout.  Registration I wanted to purchase a private Linux VPS server, so followed that from the Verpex home page. After selecting the optimal plan, I was directed to the plan management page.  With various choices for billing terms and operating systems, I made my choice and applied the 40% discount! There were also additional options for licences and extra resources, like disk space, CPU cores, and RAM.  The checkout process was smooth, and from there I was able to continue shopping or create an account.  User Interface – Client Area & Dashboard After completing my transaction and making an account, I received a confirmation email almost instantly and logged into the user dashboard.  The Verpex dashboard is easy to navigate, with clear sections for all management tools – products & services, billing, and support. In my active products tab, it was easy to find the Linux server I’d purchased earlier.  The intuitive dashboard interface displays all essential information along with a summary of storage specifications. And when I clicked into my Linux server, I found I could easily view and update the service’s details, including status, configurations, and payment methods.  Control Panel  The intuitive dashboard interface displays all essential information along with a summary of storage specifications. And when I clicked into my Linux server, I found I could easily view and update the service’s details, including status, configurations, and payment methods.  Upon clicking “Login to Control Panel” from the dashboard, I was redirected to the cPanel interface, where all hosting management tools were neatly categorized. Similarly, the process was simple and intuitive, and I found the management options to be well-organized, and beginner-friendly. WordPress Installation WordPress is one of the most popular website-building tools, so I wanted to install it on my Verpex web hosting server to see how it worked.  The installation process was simple enough, but some competitors offer one-click installation which makes the process even easier. This might not be ideal for complete beginners, but I think most users should be able to work it out.  Despite taking a few minutes, the software provides detailed information about the app before installation, making it easy to understand what you’re getting.  Impression Overall, I think for users who want an all-in-one solution for managing their websites, Verpex’s Web Hosting delivers an excellent experience. It’s intuitive, feature-rich, and provides all the tools needed to get a website up and running in no time. Performance I have two active products with Verpex: the Linux Server D4 and the Web Hosting Silver. I tested them separately to evaluate and compare performance using GTMetrix and CheckHost tools; let’s have a look at the web hosting results.  To test the performance of my Verpex Silver web hosting plan, I filled my WordPress site with some realistic content, including high-quality images, embedded YouTube videos, and custom fonts.  Verpex Week-Long GTMetrix Test Results To get a deeper understanding of how well Verpex’s web hosting performs, I wanted to test my server over a week-long period with GTMetrix.  Overall, the performance was usually stable with occasional fluctuations. However, the score dropped significantly on two separate occasions, likely caused by temporary server load or caching inefficiencies.  The average LCP was almost-always excellent, but did drop slightly once or twice. If this was a real business website, that delay could impact how users perceive loading speed. The TTFB (measuring how quickly the server responds to initial requests) was generally fast on my Verpex web hosting server. But there were noticeable slowdowns more than once, indicating a lack of reliability and stability.  For most users, these fluctuations wouldn’t be a dealbreaker, but for high-traffic or eCommerce sites that rely on instant page loads, consistency in TTFB is critical. Implementing a Content Delivery Network (CDN) or fine-tuning server-side optimizations could help mitigate these inconsistencies. The full load time of the website over time was average, and users targeting a global audience might want to optimize their content for better performance.  Verpex’s web hosting delivers decent results, with performance remaining above 90% for most of the testing period. However, there were performance dips on certain days – which could indicate temporary server slowdowns or high demand affecting response times.  For users running small business websites, blogs, or personal projects, Verpex Hosting’s hosting performance is still a great choice for budget-conscious users. Level Of Support Verpex offers a range of support channels designed to assist users with their hosting needs. So, I took the time to explore and test each of these methods and see whether they could stand up to the competition.  Live Chat Support The Verpex live chat option provides instant answers for account questions or server management issues.  After choosing a department and entering my support pin (if already a customer), I was quickly connected to a human agent who was able to provide accurate recommendations and instructions.  I was connected to a real person right after interacting with the bot, which made the process smooth and efficient – and the support agent was knowledgeable and provided clear guidance, accurately addressing my concerns. Ticket Support When logged into your Verpex account, you can also submit tickets for support assistance right from the user dashboard.  I sent my ticket and received a reply in 2 hours. This
